Them made his debut with the one-shot Kagarigari in 2013 in a Shueisha's contest dedicated to newcomer, winning. After some time Shueisha put him under an editor (precisely Katsuhiko Katayama).

In 2014 with their new one-shot, Rokkotsu-san, participated in the Weekly Shonen Jump's Gold Future Cup contest dedicated to rookie but they didn't win. In 2015 they published other two one-shot, Haeniwa no Zigzag in Weekly Shonen Jump and Rokujoshi Kyoudai in Jump Next!. In 2016 they finally had them first serialization with Kimetsu no Yaiba (based very loosely on Kagarigari), which slowly became a big hit generating a franchise.

In them works are recurring a dark imaginery and the theme of bonds (in particular the familiar one). Them gender is unknown.
