Akira Tanaka

Kaori's brother and one of the first persons to find out about the existence of Shiki. He becomes a friend of Natsuno. Later when he hears about Natsuno´s death he is devastated, blaming himself for not being able to do anything to help Natsuno. Akira is trapped by Tatsumi and disappears, leaving his terrified sister alone. It was assumed he was bitten, but he is next seen visiting his sister at a hospital in the city.
