Argent was continuously fed doses of poison as a child until his body itself became toxic, in order that he could be sold as an assassin and slave. He is a Basilisk, and because of his condition his hair is silver and his body has a sweet fragrance. He cannot touch anyone without wearing gloves, or allow anyone to touch his skin. The King of Beazol bought Argent when he was still a boy so Argent could be Princess Primula’s food taster and make sure her food wasn’t poisoned. Over time, he grew to love the princess, but Primula released him from his slavery, and he set out to become a skilled apothecary. After reuniting with Princess Primula and rescuing her from an assassination, it was decided that he would become the Royal Apothecary. He uses his abilities to not only treat people, but also to protect those he cares for. Argent later sets out on a journey to the country of Castoria in search for a stone that is rumored to detoxify Basilisks.
