Takashi Ezaki

A 21-year old shut-in who confines himself to his room and lurks internet message boards during the outbreak. Though shy and somewhat of a pushover, Takashi is generally good-natured and has always wanted to achieve something great. Representatives of Kurusu post a message on the internet claiming they will come and save anybody who will join them; Takashi reads this and posts his name and address, ending the message with "I'll fight together with you." Before long, Kurusu shows up with a group of people to rescue him. Takashi then joins the group of survivors, who are hiding out in a house in a suburban area in Saitama Prefecture. However, after one of the group is infected, Ezaki is forced to lead the zombie away so the others can escape. He is eventually infected himself, but instead of succumbing to the infection, he becomes a mutant/hybrid - attaining his human consciousness but with zombie-level speed and power - and succeeds the role of 'Kurusu', leading the group of remaining survivors to Tokyo.
