Kou Fujishima
Kou married into the Fujishima family. His original surname name is Shinomiya. Profession: Kou is a photographer. His uncle is Keishi Shinomiya - a famous photographer. Though the subjects they photograph are different, they're both into photography - Kou entered this line because he was influeced by Keishi. Kou is also very succesful: He is the head of the national geographic society. He mainly takes pictures of animals. Ever since the death of his wife he works abroad. He is always moving around - there is almost no place he hasn't been to. He only comes back once a year, and always leaves in less than a week without giving any notice. Because Kou often goes to some dangerous places he knows some sort of military self defense combat. He learnt Takara how to fight - aiming for the vitals. family Kou was still a high school student when he impregnated Yoshiko (Takara's mom). Kou was younger then her by a few years. Kou was crazy over her and was very happy when she was pregnant with Takara hence there was a reason to marry her. The young family seemed picture perfect. However, Yoshiko died and Kou wasn't able to deal with it. Because he couldn't endure the fact that his wife passed away, he actually refused to admit the it. Eventually Kou burnt all the photo's he had taken of her. Because his son Takara looked exactly like his dead wife he pushes the task of raising him onto others while he escapes the country. Initially Kou came back once a month, but slowly it became two months, 3 months, in the end it actually became a year. Kou is rather unfair towards Takara: being protective over his "little child" when it comes to Kiyomine which Kou can't approve of, and at the same time treating Takara as an adult when it comes to taking of within a week when they (father and son) are finally reunited. Kou loves Takara. He named his first photo album after Takara. All the pictures are pictures he wanted to show his son throughout those 10 years. All are parental pictures of birds or animals. Kou however doesn't feel those aren't things to be seen by others, so he wasn't very interested in publishing them.
