Elise Dangering

Elise is an English Aristocrat who likes to pick and look down on people of lower rank and upbringing and is a niece of the Duke of Dangering. She is engaged to Lowell J. Grey, but the latter starts to develop feelings for Georgie. That and her awareness of her social status makes Elise calculating, jealous and intriguing. She would take any measures necessary to save her own marriage and keep her advantages. In the end, Georgie gave up selflessly on Lowell because she couldn't afford to pay for his Tubercolosis treatment, knowing that only his new family-in-law could do so. In her last scene ever, Elise was shown seeming to have become kind of redeemed and on the other end of the Picking.
