Kuyou Suou

A humanoid interface created by the "Canopy Domain" rather than the Integrated Data Thought Entity which spawned Yuki Nagato and her kin. Kuyou appears as a pretty girl with extremely long hair who remains mainly unnoticed by human beings around her, most likely due to a form of data manipulation. She appears to be extremely uncommunicative, speaking rarely if ever at all. Her purpose on Earth remains unclear, although it is apparent that her patrons have an interest in the events unfolding around and the people surrounding Haruhi and Kyon. Usually, there is considerable tension and latent hostility whenever she meets humanoid interfaces from Yuki's side. As an interface, Kyon considers her to be much cruder than Nagato; she has difficulty with communicating and when she does, her words often seem nonsensical, her sense of individuality very weak. During her one "conversation" with Kyon, she told him he had pretty eyes. While her motives are not known, Kuyou asked Kyon to "join her" in the Astonishment arc. Before anything could happen, Asakura Ryouko stepped in to save him. She is shown to have exceptional physical abilities - even being able to stop Ryouko's knife that was thrown at a strength higher than what was expected that Kuyou could block; she was also able to completely counter Ryouko's powerful offensive attack. Kuyou also seems to have a special ability which is something that Kyon describes as her being able to turn into a 2D figure and then rotating 90 degrees (so she will only appear as a thin line). It should also be stated that Kyon detects a bit of emotion in her voice at one point. Also, her skin flushes which is a trait that is not present in any of the other humanoid interfaces. Nagato seems to be stricken ill at the end of the Dissociation arc because of her. Emiri thinks that it is likely that Kuyou is interested in Haruhi Suzumiya for the sole purpose that the Data Overlord is interested in Haruhi Suzumiya; therefore, their faction is too.
