Furon

A mysterious assassin who seems to have anti-shogun sympathies. Meets Shichimi early on, and forms a sort of rivalry with him. Is an expert swordsman, and is hired by Lord Takamitsu to get rid of his opponents, including the seven siblings. Furon is Natane's older half-brother, and is actually one of the siblings. As a child, Furon was a lively boy and had a great talent for the sword. His mother remarried to Natane's father, a swordman whom Furon loved and looked up to like a father. He accidentally killed his stepfather during a training session and became morose, and disappeared soon afterwards. At the end of the manga, he died protecting Natane and Shichimi. Although Shichimi recognized Furon as one of his blood-related brothers, Furon denied this, and wished for Natane's happiness before dying.
