Chao Ma

Courtesy name Meng Qui. A general of the Meixian army. He is the son of the warlord Ma Teng. After his fathers death, he waged war against Cao Cao to avenge him, leading to his defeat.After becoming a guest officer of the Taoist warlord Zhang Lu, and a duel with Zhang Fei at Jia Meng Pass, he, along with his cousin Ma Dai, joined Liu Bei and became one of the Five Tiger Generals of Shu. Due to his impressive performance in combat, he was often referred to as "the splendid Ma Chao".
