The manga based on the popular anime, “Mononoke”. The mysterious figure known only as the medicine seller travels through ancient Japan in search of the mononoke, monsters born from the combination of twisted human emotion and an ayakashi spirit. In order to properly vanquish them, he must first determine the Form of the mononoke, the Truth of its tragedy, and the Reason for its evildoing before unsheathing his sword. His job is one full of mystery, tragedy, and death as he delves into the horrors of the human spirit. (Note: “Ayakashi” are malicious Japanese spirits that lurk above the surface of bodies of water. “Mononoke” are spirits that are usually depicted as vengeful.)
