A string of mysterious murders have swept the small port village of Miyakono, terrifying the townspeople. Rumors about the killer run wild when the victims appear to have been brutally mangled by large teeth. High schooler Yousuke Suruga and his friends decide to investigate these murders, and their search leads them to an ancient shrine. There, a phoenix of light flies into him and disappears. The phoenix was the Guardian of the South, Suzaku, and Yousuke has inherited the Bow of Suzaku to fight the Kenzoku -- monsters that are behind the village murders. But it seems this power comes at a deadly cost...
