Description
After being brought up to uphold the ideals of the samurai, 15-year-old Udagawa Gosuke has had to watch his father and older brother commit seppuku. In order to avoid following their fate, he trains tirelessly to become an honorable samurai to support his wife Shino (also 15) and sharpen his sword skills.
After his training failed to raise his social status, he’s about to give up when Shino says the reason she makes rabbit masks is because rabbits are the animals that reach for the moon. Inspired, Gosuke vows to create a dojo for those that truly love the sword, regardless of status! Thus begins his journey as the founder of the “Rabbit-style sword swing”!
(Note: “Samurai,” or “bushi,” were military-trained warriors of nobility. “Seppuku,” literally “cutting the belly,” is a samurai’s ritual form of suicide by disembowelment by one’s sword.)
