Daijirou Morohoshi’s manga are mostly horror mysteries based on folklores, most notably in his well-known work “Yokai Hunter,” which follows an archaeology professor searching for proof of youkai. It’s no surprise that his unusual, surreal works are heavily influenced by the Cthulhu mythology.
His unique style of humans and monsters and everything in between, coupled with a bold inking style, make his art difficult for assistants to imitate and became a subject of admiration. For a hauntingly whimsical time, check out this obscure legend.
