Atsushi Nakajima did not live a happy life - he got abandoned by his parents, and now he got kicked out of the only place that took him in, his orphanage. While on the slow process of starving to death, he saves a suicidal man called Osamu Dazai from drowning. This man ends up offering Atsushi a mean and reveals that he and his partner, Doppo Kunikida, work at the Armed Detective Agency, that deals with crimes and incidents other authorities will not. After inviting him to solve an incident involving a rampant tiger in the area, which Atsushi was skeptic in agreeing to help, some sort of supernatural powers get revealed in him, and they decide to invite him to work in this so called Agency that is staffed by members with such abilities. Things quickly go downhill when as a local mafia starts to target them, and Atsushi must now use his newly acquired abilities to protect his allies and friends.
