Three years ago, Japan was visited by the “Invaders,” sparking an intense war that destroyed part of Japan and created controversy as well as pacifist movements. That day forever changed the Japanese people, and yet some things remained the same, even as the alien mothership continues to hover over the country. Koyama Kadode and Nakagawa Ouran are ordinary schoolgirls that live their life as they always have -- going to school, hanging out with friends, giving no thought to their uncertain futures. And yet as they grow up, they contemplate the world they live in, the adults they interact with, and come to find that the real threat to Earth isn’t the Invaders, but humanity itself.
