The school student Mikado Ryuugamine eventually makes his way to Tokyo - the city of excitement he always fancied, at the invitation of his childhood friend. As soon as he arrives at Ikebukuro, one of the busiest suburbs in the heart of Tokyo, his mind is blown away by what he witnesses in a day: the violent man with a super built-up body, the high school senior with a rather creepy obsession, the information dealer. Above all, the most outstanding character is no doubt the urban legend - black rider, who rumored to be headless and came from Ireland to Japan in search for her head. As a series of unusual events begin to occur one after another, how would their lives intersect with each other?
