Kengo Fujimoto

Fujimoto works for the National Welfdelivers ikigami, or death notices, to their recipients. While his job is for the "good of the country" he has doubts about the morality of it all and second guesses whether what he's doing is right or not. His girlfriend broke up with him because of how his work affects his mood and personality, which he explains with how he has to basically deliver death to people and he can't possibly be open or cheerful about such a thing. He receives a new batch of ikigami to deliver each month.
