He designed characters for anime such as RahXephon, and also supplies covers and interior art for many Japanese novel series, including the Twelve Kingdoms novels by Fuyumi Ono.

He made his manga debut as a professional in 1981 with the short story "Padan Padan" in Allan.

Won the Seiun Award for Best Art in 1996.
