    He was a Japanese manga artist and renowned as the co-creator, with Go Nagai, of the Getter Robo anime series, as well as four of their subsequent manga continuations.


    He collapsed at a dinner banquet, after a day of golf, and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead according to his mentor, Go Nagai.


    He died on November 15, 2006, aged 58.
