In May of 1993, Japanese soccer’s first pro-league, J-League, starts. Jouji Motohashi is the ace to the team Red Diamonds, but he’s somehow dissatisfied with his current way of life despite his success. Then he meets 16-year-old school dropout, Taka Akaboshi, who is trying out for soccer teams in the hopes of being a pro and earning lots of money. Hot-headed and rash, Taka fails the tryouts for the Red Diamonds and then directly challenges Jouji with a bet. Jouji wins their one-on-one match easily, but he and his team can’t help but be captivated by Taka’s spirit and natural instinct on the field. What is the future of Taka, who reaches for a dream that Jouji gave up long ago?
