Three months after going to Spain to continue his soccer training, Toudou Mirai was demoted to a reserve player. He dejectedly goes on a sea tour with his coach and the other second division members to England. However, the ship catches fire, and Mirai is plunged into the sea! When he resurfaces, he’s found by a 17-year-old English boy named Eddie, who is delighted when he finds out that Mirai is a soccer player. But then it seems as if Mirai has been transported back in time to the late 1800s, and Spain having a soccer team is unheard of, much less a Japanese player! Nonetheless, with his skills, Mirai ends up having to help Eddie’s team “Durham” in joining the world's first ever professional league!!
